This seminar will cover some of the
basic techniques for energy work in
Medical Qigong – breath, posture, and
intention which are the foundation
blocks of Chinese Medicine. In addition,
attention will focused on proper
breathing mechanics and awareness of how
improper breathing mechanics can
adversely affect health.
Participants will:

Learn to experience the
flow of energy (Qi)
within yourself and
between you and others

Learn a traditional
Medical Qigong grounding
technique
-
Learn to recognize and
correct breathing
irregularities that
cause "fight or flight"
syndrome
-
Learn a simple but
effective technique to
clear emotional
discomfort
-
Learn a daily practice
to enhance body systems,
increase energy and
maintain health

provide as much individual attention
as possible, the class will be
limited to 20 people.
ABOUT
THE TEACHERS
Bill McEwen was a training
specialist with Columbia State
Community College's Office of
Economic and Community Development.
He conducts workforce training and
professional development throughout
the region. Bill initiated the
inclusion of academic course work
and training based on the works of
Stephen Covey's, 7 Habits of Highly
Effective People and Principle
Centered Leadership. As a nationally
certified facilitator, he has
conducted workshops, seminars and
courses for a vast array of
companies, boards of education
employees, and hundreds of
individuals throughout the
southeast. Bill was honored as the
recipient of Franklin Covey's
prestigious Facilitator of the Year
award. He has completed a 200 hour
training program in traditional
Chinese Medicine and Chinese Medical
Qigong Therapy from the
International Institute of Medical
Qigong overseas College of Medical
Qigong, Henan University of
Traditional Chinese Medicine, with
J. Michael Wood, MMQ , Middle
Tennessee Director.
Bill holds a M.S. degree in
psychology and student personnel
from the University of Tennessee,
Knoxville. He was a commissioned
officer in the United States Marines
and served in South Vietnam, He
served as vice president of Shapard
Lumber Company for ten years.
Deanna J Naddy, RN, DSN, is owner
and director of the Highland Realm
Holistic Health & Wellness Center
where she offers a variety of
healing modalities, health
counseling, and day and weekend
retreats. She is the former
Associate Dean for Nursing at
Columbia State Community College.
She is a graduate of the University
of Kansas, Vanderbilt University and
the University of Alabama at
Birmingham. A Reiki Master and a
Healing Touch practitioner, Dr.
Naddy has studied mind body health
with Dr. Andrew Weil. She is
certified in hypnotherapy from the
Institute of Healing Arts and has
studied energetic medicine using
electrical reactivity as a
biofeedback tool in stress
reduction. She has also studies
Healing with Love with Dr. Ibrahem
Jaffee. Dr. Naddy is a Master Bowen
therapist and instructor. She
studied with the late Milton
Albrecht, the first coordinator for
Bowen Therapy in the US, and Oswald
Rentch of Australia, one of the
documentarian for Bowen Therapy. She
has completed a 200 hour training
program in traditional Chinese
Medicine and Chinese Medical Qigong
Therapy from the International

College of Medical Qigong, Henan
